Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (Aug. 8, 2006) Ð A tugboat assigned to Naval Station Pearl Harbor, energizes its firefighting hoses in front of the USS Arizona Memorial, celebrating the conclusion of Commander, Navy Region Hawaii, Commander, Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific, change of command ceremony. Rear Adm. Townsend G. Alexander relieved Rear Adm. Michael C. Vitale during the official ceremony. Alexander will serve as regional coordinator, managing the Navy’s shore installations and be responsible for the training, maintenance and readiness of the 12 surface ships homeported at Pearl Harbor.
